The conference was
held in the New Orleans Convention Center.
This is where you
want to be to learn the latest and greatest, if your job deals with
Microsoft products or developing applications around their products.
We attended the co-conference as well which was the Microsoft Executive
Summary - a two day high-level strategy conference around the latest
products and where their products where heading. TechEd itself
primarily geared towards tech-type folks and/or programmers.
The sessions were
numerous and as always, there were always two or more that you really
wanted to attend that you had to choose between. This problem along
with the Microsoft Executive Conference being held at the Fairmont Hotel
each day, made it impossible to attend everything we had an interest in.
Fortunately, we did obtain copies of the TechEd DVDs and all the
presentations which allows us to refer back to any session. |

some of the vendors had some elaborate props, including this one with a
brushed stainless Harley. There were the typical women in attire
from hot pants to evening gowns, one in a "hooker" looking outfit - all to

lots of give-aways as with any conference, from the ink pins, t-shirts,
software, books, etc. It took an extra bag to just bring back the
goodies. |

The "Keynote"
sessions were held each morning with big-name speakers covering the
hottest topics.
The auditorium was
huge, large enough (naturally) to seat all of the TechEd particpants,
speakers and vendors. The huge wall of screens had an aquarium on it
before the start of the "Keynote" |

Once the Keynote started, the screen showing the aquarium changed to a
backtdrop for TechEd.
The speaker's was
displayed on some of the 12 large screens placed in front and around the
room. Other screens displayed the presentation of the speaker's
talk. |

Being signed up in
the Microsoft Executive Conference did get us up front seating at the
Keynotes. |
